The Beginning of an Obsession

The Guebly Prologue Souscription is the inaugural expression of founder Adnane Kerd’s deeply personal vision of independent haute horlogerie - a watch born not from a traditional manufacture, but from the perspective of a lifelong collector determined to create the piece he himself wanted to own. First sketched in 2016 and refined over almost eight years, the Prologue brings together a carefully assembled network of specialist artisans, with every element developed around Kerd’s pursuit of proportion, functionality and uncompromising finishing.

Its distinctive 42 mm, 23-facet case is crafted entirely from Grade 5 titanium, combining an architectural, contemporary silhouette with a remarkably light 59-gram construction. At its centre sits Guebly’s carefully developed deep blue dial, created on a sterling silver base and complemented by hand-finished titanium hands and a retrograde seconds indication at 6 o’clock, which travels across a 120-degree arc before returning every 30 seconds.

Turn the watch over and the restraint of the dial gives way to the elaborate hand-finishing of Calibre 21.31. The self-winding movement features Grade 5 titanium plates and bridges, a contrasting 5N yellow-gold micro-rotor, 217 components and a 70-hour power reserve. Micro-bead-blasting, perlage, straight graining, hand-bevelled edges, polished details and no fewer than eight inward and six outward angles reveal the level of traditional craftsmanship hidden within this thoroughly modern architecture.

Created as the Souscription edition and limited to just 20 pieces worldwide, the Prologue represents exactly what its name suggests: not a conclusion, but the opening chapter of Guebly. It is a remarkably assured debut - sporting in character, refined in execution and defined by the obsessive attention to detail of a collector who spent years turning his ideal watch into reality.
