With the Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour Raven Black, Fears reinterprets its archival cushion silhouette through the lens of sharp contrast, quiet innovation, and British restraint. This is the Jump Hour complication pared back to its essentials — minimal, monochrome, and meticulously executed.

At the centre of the watch is the JJ01 calibre, an automatic jumping hour movement built on the Sellita SW200, featuring a proprietary module developed in partnership with Christopher Ward. At 12 o’clock, the current hour is displayed through a crisp window — no hour hand, no excess. Just a single, sculpted minute hand sweeping the dial, advancing the hour numerals precisely on the hour.

The Raven Black dial plays with shadow and light. A finely engraved concentric guilloché texture marks the inner minute track, while the outer section radiates outward with a delicate sunburst finish. A rhodium-coated frame surrounds the jump hour aperture, providing a bright architectural highlight against the lacquered black and white dial. The numerals, printed in Fears’ Edwin typeface, hover on a white disc in bold black ink.

Encased in 40.5mm of polished and brushed stainless steel, the signature Brunswick case curves elegantly without a flat surface in sight. Inspired by a 1924 gentleman’s watch, its flowing lines are complemented by the bespoke onion crown, engraved with the Fears Cypher.

A rhodium-coated minute hand, dual-finished with frosted and mirror-polished segments, maintains clarity at every angle — a small detail, done exceptionally well.

The watch is paired with a Raven Black buffalo leather strap, hand-stitched and lined with deep blue Alcantara® for a refined tactile experience. Alternatively, it can be worn on Fears’ five-link stainless steel bracelet, with quick-release spring bars and a discreet enameled clasp — a versatile pairing for a design that balances heritage with urban precision.
