When visionary invention meets the art of the dial

Renaud Tixier Introduces the Monday Organica by Ateliers Olivier Vaucher

Renaud Tixier has unveiled the Monday Organica, a strictly limited edition of just seven timepieces, created in collaboration with Ateliers Olivier Vaucher — one of the world’s foremost masters of métiers d’art. This exceptional creation represents the first time Dominique Renaud, a founding figure of modern horology, has worked directly with a dial artisan. The result is a watch where patented mechanical innovation and poetic handcraft meet in perfect harmony, celebrating the very essence of watchmaking artistry.

Patented innovation, reimagined

Following in the footsteps of the inaugural Monday, the Monday Organica continues the collection’s mission to challenge convention. At its heart lies one of Dominique Renaud’s signature inventions: a patented micro-rotor system enhanced by an inertia wheel and a unique “dancer” spring. Inspired by energy recovery systems in the automotive world, this subtle mechanism optimizes efficiency, extends power reserve, and protects the movement through a disengagement system that activates in case of shocks.

The RVI2023 caliber was conceived entirely around this invention, embodying Manufacture Dominique Renaud’s philosophy: to build a movement from an idea, rather than fit an idea to an existing mechanism.

RENAUD TIXIER

Founded by Dominique Renaud, co-founder of Renaud & Papi, and Luiggino Tixier, Renaud Tixier is an independent Swiss watchmaking Maison dedicated to uniting visionary mechanical innovation with the highest expressions of traditional craftsmanship.

The Brand

The artistry of Olivier Vaucher

Balancing mechanical ingenuity is a dial conceived and crafted by Ateliers Olivier Vaucher, requiring 112 hours of work. Using some of the most demanding artisanal techniques — multi-level hand engraving, grand feu enamel, and intricate textures — the surface transforms into a miniature landscape of depth and detail. Light and shadow reveal coded lines and layered narratives, a work of art as enigmatic as it is tactile.

A further tribute to traditional craftsmanship, the barrel ratchet wheel cover has been hand-chiseled and finished with violet grand feu enamel. The platinum case of the Monday Organica is itself engraved along the flanks and between the lugs, reinforcing the dialogue between mechanics and métiers d’art.

A true co-creation

The Monday Organica was never an outsourced project, but a genuine co-creation between Dominique Renaud and Olivier Vaucher — two figures who have shared a vision of watchmaking for over 40 years. From the earliest sketches, the ateliers worked side by side, refining proportions, colors, and finishes in tandem with technical development. The partnership is immortalized on the caseback, proudly engraved with their joint authorship.

For Vaucher, it was an opportunity to push the limits of his craft; for Renaud, it was a chance to integrate innovation into an aesthetic of audacity and refinement. Together, they demonstrate how horology and craftsmanship not only coexist, but elevate one another.

An enigmatic creation

The Monday Organica does not reveal itself all at once. Its dial explores restraint and depth, with certain details visible only under shifting light. A kaleidoscopic motif of translucent blue enamel layered over engraving evokes the movement’s architecture, both geometric and organic, a mechanical ballet suspended in time.

As part of the Monday collection — seven models each aligned with a day of the week and a singular mechanical idea — the Organica holds special significance. It represents the “day” of rebirth, the opening of the creative cycle, and sets the tone for the entire collection.
